Что делали немецкие богачи во времена инфляции в первой половине XX века. Эти богачи, далекие от подлинного  искусства люди, вдруг воспылали страстью к мадоннам, старинным гравюрам, книгам, мебели и т.д. Мало того, они посмели назначать цену, столь изящному «товару».

И вот однажды, владелец антикварной лавки, с грустью смотря на свои жалкие безделушки, закрывался. Грустно было от того, что у него не получалось так же хорошо вести бизнес, как у отца и деда и при этом иметь стоящий товар. Тут его осенило, что было бы неплохо посмотреть списки старых клиентов, вдруг ему удастся выкупить что-нибудь стоящее. На глаза попалась фамилия одного клиента, который  покупал у них гравюры в течении 60 лет, но в 1914 году связь с ним прервалась. Сильно заинтересовавшись этой коллекцией, он немедля отправился туда. Вот он прибыл в этот захолустный городишко и пошел в дом. Когда его запустили, он увидел пожилого, но все еще крепкого, с басистым голосом старика. Позже выяснилось, что он слеп. Далее между господами завязалась непринужденная беседа о том о сем. Когда речь зашла о коллекции, супруга пожилого господина отчаянно затрясла головой и оттянула сам процесс до прихода дочери. Наш антиквар отправился обедать, позже к нему в отель подошла их дочь, и начала повествовать о их нелегкой жизни. С 1914 года старик слеп на два глаза, жить было трудно, и они продавали все, что имели. Когда продавать стало нечего, они взялись за коллекцию. Покупатели высылали деньги только тогда, когда их стоимость уже успела обесцениться. Пробовали они продавать и на аукционе, но и там их сумели обмануть. В папки, вместо гравюр они вставили листы и жалкие репродукции. Старик в свою очередь, ничего не знает и считает, что все эти листочки – бесценные гравюры. Счастье всей его жизни – это его коллекция, поэтому вы должны восхищаться, разоблачение подобно смерти. Выслушав все это, наш антиквар, настолько проникся, что сидел в оцепенении. А коллекционер тем временем изливался в пылких похвалах над совершенно пустым листом. Потом, вспомнив о данном обещании, он стал восхищаться и разделять радость коллекционера. И тот час же лицо старика просияло. Весь этот процесс занимал около двух часов. Тут он сказал, что ему уже пора, что немало огорчила старца. Но после уговоров он стал прощаться и благодарить за визит антиквар. Когда он вышел, старик окликнул и пожелал счастливого пути, махнув ему платком с окна второго этажа. 

Поступок антиквар был одновременно и ужасен и благороден, но ситуация была безвыходная. А что касается коллекционера, то как сказал Гете: «Собиратели – счастливейшие из людей».

(Episode from the times of inflation in Germany)

What did the German rich people in times of inflation in the first half of XX century. These rich men far from the real art suddenly blazed with passion to old engravings, books, furniture, etc. Moreover, they have dared to set a price, so the elegant «product».

One day, the owner of an antique shop was looking sadly at his few trinkets. He was sad that he didn't do it as well to conduct business as his father and grandfather, and thus have a antique goods. Действие происходит в самом начале XX века. Джеймс Барри – драматург, сценарист, вся элита стекается на его премьеры. Его близкий друг – его спонсор. В этот раз пьеса потерпела полное фиаско и критики не пренебрегут этим воспользоваться. Они с женой создают видимость семейного благополучия, хотя на самом деле все настолько плохо, что Джеймс спит с собакой. Общих детей у них нет, да и взаимопонимания тоже.

Однажды  в парке он встречает Сильвию Дэвис с четырьмя сыновьями. Каждый последующий день они будут проводить вместе, играя и веселясь вместе с детьми, Джеймс будет черпать вдохновение для написания пьесы. Столько прекрасных моментов переживут они вместе, благодаря вере в волшебство.

Наступит долгожданный день премьеры пьесы «Питер Пен». Сильвия с детьми должны были быть там, но из-за приступов, туда пойдет только Питер, по настоянию Сильвии. На следующее утро  Джеймс Барри придет к ним и поставит сильно урезанную пьесу. После того, как Сильвия увидит Волшебную страну, она умрет. На похоронах, мать Сильвии известит его, что он и она являются законными опекунами осиротевших детей.

В жизни никогда не знаешь, куда ведет нас рок событий и чем обернется та или иная встреча. Жизнь, сделавшая детей сиротами (понять то время можно, нехватка лекарств, антибиотиков; неразвитость  медицины, инфраструктуры), посылает им одинокого в душе гения. Родной не по крови, таков наш Джеймс Барри.

 

Semi-biographical film about playwright J. M. Barrie and his relationship with a family who inspired him to create Peter Pan.

The action takes place in the beginning of the XX century. James Barry is playwright, screenwriter, all the elite gathered at his premiere. His close friend is his sponsor. For this once piece was a flop and critics didn’t scorn to take an opportunity.

He and his wife create the illusion of prosperity, but actually everything is so bad that James sleeps with the dog. They don’t have common children and understanding too. One day, in the Park, he meets Silvia Davis with four sons.

Each subsequent day they will be together, playing and having fun together with their children, James will draw inspiration for writing the play. So many beautiful moments they will survive together, through faith in magic.

Long-awaited day of the premiere «Peter pan» began. Silvia with children were meant to be there, but because of the attacks, there will only Peter, at the insistence of Sylvia. The next morning James Barry will come to them and put severely curtailed play. After Sylvia sees the Neverland, she will die. At the funeral, the mother of Silvia will notify him that he and she are the legal guardians of orphaned children.

Новелла посвящена всем эгоистичным и равнодушным тварям, которые из-за денег готовы душу дьяволу продать.
Старик Соломонсон – 65-летний советник коммерции, просыпается в своем номере от сильной боли в печени. Вместо того, чтобы лечиться в Карлсбаде, он предпочел отдых в кругу своей семьи на юге Италии. Надеясь разогнать боль, он медленно поднимается и пробирается в коридор. Шагая из конца в конец, боль понемногу отошла. В темноте что-то скрипнуло, и женская фигура скользнула в одну из комнат. Подойдя к двери своей 19-летней дочери Эрны, старик понял, она вышла из чужой комнаты и тайком вернулась в свою. После увиденого, Соломонсон потерял покой, он перебирал в уме все прожитые годы и не мог понять, как такое могло произойти. Его милое дитя с каким-то мужчиной…
Он горестно стонал, понимая, что это его первый в жизни отдых, что всю жизнь он только и делал, что горбатился ради их легкой жизни по 14 часов в сутки в конторе, выцарапывая пфеннинг за пфеннингом. Деньги испортили жену и дочь, сделали их чужими друг для друга.


За завтраком старик не смел взглянуть дочери в лицо, так ему стыдно и горестно было за нее. А когда она хотела его поцеловать, он весь отдернулся, так противен ему был слащавый запах духов. Целый день он провел в своих раздумьях и внутренних переживаниях, а дочь с женой были заняты собой и старались не замечать его. Они всегда все делали так, как им угодно, не считаясь с его мнением. Ближе к обеду он пересилил себя и просил жену уехать куда угодно сейчас же. Жена лишь нахмурилась и сказала, что это невозможно. После этого непродолжительного диалога, старик задыхаясь побежал в свою комнату. Там у него снова начался приступ, никого не было кто мог бы положить ему компресс, а у самого не хватало сил. В те мучительные минуты он ощущал две боли, первая – это его болезнь печени, а вторая – это боль его души и сердца. Понемногу боль проходила и старик задремал. В его сознание чудилось будто весь организм изранен и кровь сочится внутрь и капает в самое сердце. А сердце в свою очередь впитывает всю влагу, набухает и вдруг медленно-медленно опускается вниз.
Когда он проснулся, у него было такое странное ощущение, будто его собственное тело отделилось от него. На следующее утро он собрал чемодан и уехал. Вернувшись домой, он резко изменился, стал немногословен, равнодушен ко всему окружающему миру, стал читать молитвы и полностью погрузился в себя. Родные все пытались поговорить с ним, но он был непоколебим и в конце концов они оставили его в покое. Через несколько месяцев врач сказал, что ему предстоит операция. Старик Соломонсон обрадовался, ведь мучиться осталось недолго, и в последний раз отправился в контору. Посидев немного в своем кресле, он выписал чек, сумма которого предназначалась для благотворительности и уходу за его могилой. Потом он пошел на могилу своих родителей. При выходе его окружили нищие, он отдал им все деньги, которые были у него и даже обручальное кольцо. Таким нищим он пошел под нож хирурга. После наркоза, врачи подвели к нему жену и дочь. Увидав дочь, он слегка улыбнулся, но то ли этот ее приторный аромат духов, то ли давние мысли – лицо его исказилось и он лишь мог кричать: «Прочь! Прочь!» Как только жена и дочь вышли из палаты, он успокоился, и его сердце медленно-медленно совсем перестало биться.



Novella was dedicated to all selfish and indifferent creatures that for the money they ready sell the soul to the devil.
The old man Solomonson - 65-year-old Advisor of Commerce, wakes up in your room from severe pain in the liver. Instead of treatment in Carlsbad, he preferred to rest the family in the South of Italy. Итак, Сара – маленькая принцесса, вместе с отцом она живет в Индии, но из-за того, что отца призывают на военную службу, они вынуждены уехать жить в Нью-Йорк. Папа устраивает ее в элитный пансионат, а сам уезжает на фронт. Напоследок он дарит ей куклу Эмили, которая ей будет лучшей подругой и обещает писать письма.

Саре отводят лучшую комнату, воспитатели стараются более снисходительно относиться к самовольному характеру и свободолюбивому духу. Сама Сара привыкает жить по правилам этой школы, у нее появляется много подружек и все вроде бы прекрасно…  Но однажды, когда она будет праздновать свой День Рождение в пансионат придет адвокат отца. Он известит воспитательницу, что отец Сары погиб на фронте, его компания обанкротился, кроме отца у Сары больше нет родных, следовательно, она больше не сможет оплачивать свое пребывание в пансионате. В этот момент отношение к Саре резко меняется, и она становится прислугой, также как и Бекки, и  живет на чердаке.

В жизни Сары произойдет много неприятных моментов, но благодаря своему доброму сердцу, терпению, благородству она вместе с друзьями с лихвой их преодолеет. Лично для меня Сара – герой. Оптимист, жизнелюбивая душа, «добрая фея». Все девочки — принцессы. Даже если они живут на чердаках, даже если они одеты в лохмотья, даже если они не красивы, не симпатичны, и не молоды, все равно они — принцессы!

Finally watched this film from the beginning till the end J. So, Sarah is a little Princess, together with her father she lives in India, but due to the fact that the father called to the military service, they have to go live in New York. Dad got her in a luxury boarding house, and he went to the front. Finally, he gave her a doll Emily that she will be her best friend and promised to write letters. Sarah was directed the best room, teachers tried to have more mildly attitude to self-willed character and freedom-loving spirit. Sarah was accustoming to live by the rules of this school, she had many friends and everything seems fine... But one day when she celebrated her birthday father’s lawyer came to the boarding school. He notified the teacher, the father of Sarah died at the front, his company had liquidated, Sarah do not have relatives, therefore, it can no longer pay for your stay in the boarding school. At this point the attitude towards Sarah changed dramatically, and she was becoming servants, as well as Becky, and lives in the attic. In the life of Sarah will be lots of unpleasant moments, but thanks to his good heart, patience, generosity together with her friends, they successfully will steam difficulties. For me, personally, Sarah is Hero. She is optimist, cheerful soul, «fairy». All the girls are Princess. Even if they live in attics, even if they are dressed in rags, even if they are not beautiful, not pretty, and not young, they are still – Princess!!!
